Garden

Let's say I love having a garden! :) Thanks to Carolyn, who started the idea, I've been having a blast. I love seeing the kids excitement when we check the plants and especially when they get to eat "their fruits". As of now we've only had tomatoes but soon we will be eating from our first zucchini! So I've posted the "chronological" pictures of the garden up to today.

MAY 15
This was our set up day. We weeded and set up our "spot" at my neighbor's backyard.

JULY 12
So we went out of town for a week and when I came back I found a 14" zucchini ready to be picked up! I grew overnight!! hahaha Spencer and Bella loved seeing the big zucchini and they were so excited to show it to Wes when he got home. Spencer said that we need to make zucchini bread with it ... any good recipes??

They love eating tomatoes right out of the plant. Also, our little pumpkins are already showing too. It will be fun to carve our own pumpkins this Halloween :)

  1. So fun to have your own garden!! That zuccini is pretty darn big! That's enough for a few loaves of bread. Congrats to you! Next time you should plant peas- I remember eating the pea pods right from the plant when I was growing up. :)

  2. Oh yum! I love zucchini bread! My mom has a good recipe you'll have to get from her. Moist chamois.

  3. There is something really amazing about watching a garden grow, and food actually form almost in front of your eyes. I need to help my kids catch the spirit a little more. That picture of the kids with the zucchini is awesome.
